KEMI Welcomes Fall 2010 Interns

July 10, 2010

On Saturday, July 10th, the Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI) program welcomed its 22nd group of interns!  Twenty-five interns were selected to participate in the Fall 2010 session.  An Orientation week was set up to welcome the new group and introduce them to the vast Thoroughbred industry in Central Kentucky.  The group is pictured here as they visited with Marquetry, a multiple, Grade I winning millionaire, who is now retired at Old Friends, a Kentucky facility for retired Thoroughbreds.  The interns will remain in Lexington through mid-December, working on several leading Thoroughbred farms, learning about the racing industry and caring for the horses.
